Basically a few months after I started back in '06, the company went into financial distress, and there hasn't been a moment since then when I couldn't lose my job at any time. I survived countless rounds of layoffs, but finally, this bullet had my name on it.
Months ago my boss notified me that this might happen. They didn't keep any secrets, their treatment is fair, if not especially generous, and I'm not really worried about finding a new position in time.
Still, I've been here longer than any other place I've worked, and seen it through transitions exciting and depressing.
Onwards and upwards!
