This is a lovely tree in blossom. Outside my front door, yesterday. In mid-February.
Around the corner, honeysuckle bushes are in full bloom, and bees are bumbling from flower to flower, gathering nectar and pollen. The bottlebrush tree in the alley is in flower, and hummingbirds are zipping through the air, defending the nests where they raise their young. In the air, the raucous "cree cree" of mourning doves in their mating ritual pierce the morning.
Either we completely skipped Winter, or all these plants and animals and birds are in for a very rude awakening when the cold weather returns.
The world has gone mad.
