I'm with so many of you out there, horrified to hear that Dirk is dead, doubly so that it was violent. It just doesn't parse - he was so ...cheery. Irrepressible. I didn't know him as well as many of you, especially since moving West, but still. He was present at some of the happiest events of my life, and will always be remembered by me that way - happily.
