Done!

More sanding (yay!!) and then a wipe and two coats of copper-based bottom paint. There are rather a few bottoms I'd have enjoyed working on more than this one. But by golly we're done and tomorrow she'll swim again!

Out of curiosity, what's the procedure for painting the parts obscured by the bracers holding the boat upright? Do you have a second set of bracers that you set up, or is the balance such that it's a much greater operation to undertake?

Or do you just have four unpainted squares on the bottom? lol

When they put her up in the slings on the crane, the spots covered by the chocks are exposed. We ran in and did a quick coat there while it was up. Then they wait a few minutes for the paint to dry, and lower her back into the water. It's still only one coat, rather than two, but it's not completely unpainted.

aghrivaine was a quick learner and a tireless boat-sander. He only complained a tiny bit, even less than I did myself, I'm sure. I couldn't have done it without him, and though I don't REALLY look forward to hauling out per se, I look forward to hauling out in the future with him!
