Anatomical correctnes notwithstanding, I have always kind of liked that one. It's called "Shield".

But my favorite, of course, is "Power and the Passion" over on Brand Blvd.- you get one guess why...

Maybe he's being so dramatic because he wants his genitals back?

...

Yeah, I hate prudishness too.

Last night I had a conversation with Lauren, the new Childe of Haquim player, regarding that statue. I thought it was ugly because it had no genitals.

As for the reason it had none, I speculated that it was either a hidden message about male emasculation in America or the artist has some serious Freudian castration anxiety issues. For some reason, simple prudishness did not enter my mind as the explanation.

I think the short answer is that the artist has this whole big thing about angels (as celestal beings, but also as elements) and depicts them in the traditional sexless state.

But if you are geninely curious, there is a book about it:

I don't think it's about prudishness, either, or emascualtion. The artist has created some pretty raw, powerful pieces in her body of work. I quite like her. But to get back to Aghrivaine's original statement about the lack of wang... It could be that in the post-Rodney King and Rampart scandal era, a statue of a protector waving a giant bronze penis is probably not what the Glendale PD was looking for as a statement.

Not that it invalidates anything you've said, but...

this smacks of a drunk-post. :)

Nary a drop. It's a "larp post" though, so maybe that's just as bad...

(how many drunk people do you know that use "missish" in a sentence?)

Fair enough.

C'mon, it IS YOU we're talking about, so I can't put "missish" or anything else past a drunk-post. :)

That's what I was thinking. But I guess in a drunk post it would be "mishish"?

If I were in a band, "Bring Back the Wangs!" would be the title of our next CD.
