History

Today I saw a castle. I walked through its various stages of life, from 1100AD or so, right on up to the 20th Century. (Schloss Burg) Yesterday I walked through an archaeological park where a Roman encampment had been dug up, and partially reconstructed. (Xanten)

You just can't do that in America, no matter how hard you try. Also I had un-pasteuriyed cheese, and drove by a chinese restaurant called 'China-man' ...which you also won't see in America.

p.s. Döner are delicious!

Did you take the Seilbahn to Schloss Burg? I.e. the chair lift up to the castle?

Yes! It was really neat! Though they did not give me skis, so getting back down the hill was sort of... rough going.

I'm glad you're having a good time, but YOU ARE KILLING ME with my own jealousy.

I know exactly what you mean. This is not helping with the Wanderlust. Not at all!

Well, Wandern is pretty much a state of mind, so I guess wearing hiking boots on the beach in bright sunshine is a perfectly acceptable remedy for Wanderlust (which is amazing for existing as a word in english).

Hiking boots? Oh no! Sand in the toes is the correct remedy for Wanderlust! (Preferably Hawaiian sand or the pink kind they have in Bermuda!)
