Beginner Again

My mouth is dry. My heart, just a little, is racing.

Why? Today I am a beginner again.

I'm going to my first class at Aikido Sho Bu Juku Dojo.

I started Aikido in 1989. I haven't set foot on a mat since coming to California.

Even in contemplating returning to the Way, I find I'm nervous.

But also, I sense good and helpful thought-patterns returning.

It's good to be a beginner again.  "It is not good to settle into a set of opinions. Put forth great efforts in understanding the basics, then practicing so that they may come to fruition is something that will never stop for your whole lifetime. Think, "This is not enough". Set your mind not to put things off. Within this is the Way." - Hagakure

I'm only sorry that it's been so long.

Hooray! Bravo!

You always seem more grounded when you're active in aikido.
