Hummingbird

I had an unusual wakeup this morning - a hummingbird flitted in through the window. I had left it open a crack for fresh air, but so narrow that the cat can't get out through it. For a bird on the wing, it would be an impressive target, because the bird would have to fold its wings and just fall through.

So I wake up to "whirrrr thump. Whirrrrr thump. Whirrrr thump" as the little sucker kept trying to fly back out and hitting the glass. I blinked in surprise once or twice, and then very carefully turned the crank that opened the window a bit wider to let it out. It whirred off, I presume with relief.

Clearly this a portent of some sort. I've only seen wild hummingbirds on the wing three times in my life, much less woken to one fluttering around my room. No wild animal has ever woken me (in a house. The army was a different story.) So this was an unusual occurrence.

So without further ado - a poll!

The Aztec God of War is Blue Hummingbird (Huitzilopotchtli). Just sayin' ;)

Also, yay for remembering how to spell that without looking (first)!

To properly answer this question, one must know what the hummingbird means to the subject... I could say it means freedom, or a move, or change of career, but to you, it could simply mean a hummer.

But without further ado: The hummingbird totem (cut for content.)
Hummingbird a symbol for accomplishing that
which seems impossible.
It can teach you how to find the
miracle of joyful living in your own life.

This totem reminds us to explore the past
and extract the sweetness from it.
It can help you find joy and sweetness in any situation.
Grab joy as swiftly as you can.

See? Invisible barriers AND hummers! Just as I suspected.

I think you are about to open a path for yourself. Opening your own window, so to speak :)
