I'm doing some technical writing at work - whenever I have to concentrate on something, I turn on the iPod and focus. I've found a bunch of great podcasts lately, and downloaded every single one of "The Signal" which is about Firefly/Serenity.
The most recent episode is post-Serenity, so they're talking about that, with spoilers. And there's a lengthy meditation (by Tracy Hickman, of Dragonlance fame) about "Why Wash? Why you bastard, why??"
And you know, when they play the sound clip, "I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar!" I got all choked up. I'm STILL upset that Wash died. Still, I get all misty-eyed when I think about it. On one hand, I'm really mad because... well, Wash! Poor Wash! But on the other hand ... that's some good film-making. A month later, I'm still upset.
Joss Whedon knows how to make it hurt.
