I took a sort of dumb route through LA to Oxnard, and ended up lost or a little whie in the Los Feliz - Silverlake - Glendale area. Eventually I got myself pointed right, and fought my way through the absurd traffic, and ended up here, right on the edge of the continent. There's an ocean just outside my door!
So I followed the sun, and here is where it sets. Today I unpack and get settled - and I'll have to pull some sort of computer miracle, too, because my uncle's Mac is too old to grok gmail. So unless I want to be completely isolated, I'll have to fix that. Tomorrow, I start work! Well, apprenticeship, I suppose. But at any rate they're working on four mini-series and two movies all at once, it's very exciting.
Today I'll explore a little, relax, get settled. I'm starting a whole new life today - something I don't have a lot of experience with. I've only had that one life before, so I only got to do the whole "starting a life" thing but the once. But yesterday was the Winter Solstice, which I think was a propitious day to arrive - every day after I moved to LA, there will be more light, and less darkness.
