No longer Seekrit projekt

So, Song of Ice and Fire is to be a miniseries on HBO.

I knew about this long before the deal was signed. In fact, way back at WorldCon, I gave a spec script for an episode directly to grrm, who was shocked that I'd managed to do so the very day that he'd signed the deal. He was forthright about saying that the project has two high-profile writers attached, and I now know that those writers are David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Given that I haven't heard a word back about the script - not even a rejection - I can only assume that my super-awesome-dream-come-true-scenario remains the sort of dreamy little dream that one meditates on over coffee by the sea in the morning. Which, I can assure you, I have.

I remain excited by the series coming to HBO...but am naturally disappointed that I won't get to be "2nd Class Script Flunky in charge of Westeros Continuity" or something. But the lovely thing about LA? There's a super-awesome-dream-come-true -scenario around every corner. Each one may be a long shot - but a long shot is still a shot. That's my motto, and I'm sticking to it!
