Started Early
For my birthday, my East Coast Aunt recovered a baby book my mom kept until I was 7. It was a fine gift - and a great reminder that my mom was a very caring, diligent mother for many years. Some of the stuff was a surprise (my "society" grandparents gave me, on the day of my birth, a collection of T.S. Eliot poems and an orchid.) some of it predictable (by age six I didn't want to talk about anything that didn't pertain to Star Wars).
But of particular interest was evidence that it all started early:
