Workin' it

Lots has happened. I saw whales. I won a 15 foot long dragon. I put a period in the place of one of the great question marks of my life. But the thing I'm excited about today is this - a movie came in that I'm going to be doing my first professional audio work on.

The film is called "McBride" - it's a courtroom drama starring John Laroquette. This is technically McBride 3, since there have been two previous installments. My job for this one is to cut backgrounds (or "bg's" as we call them in the biz...) which means all the little sounds like cars passing by, birds chirping, courtroom walla - all the ambient stuff that creates the "feel" of the scene is what I'll be doing. It'll even be a paid gig, which is exciting.

I'm going to be working evening hours so that there's a free mixing room when I'm here, but that's okay by me - I can spend my days writing or maybe taking another job. Or at the studio learning new stuff - whatever. The timing couldn't have been better, I was starting to stress about money and whatnot. And now, there's no need! I'm going to work extra hard on this, over the weekend and everything.

I might even get a credit on the titles!
